7 Tips to Prepare for Fall and Winter Sessions
The leaves are changing, the air is crisp and the holidays are just around the corner. It's time for Fall and Winter photoshoots!
These shoots can be a lot of fun but don't skip out on planning and preparation. Here are a few tips on how to prepare for your Fall/Winter session:
1) Before you book your session, you'll want to know what sort of look you're going for. Is it a classic fall look? A modern one? Do you want an edgy feel? Think about what kind of vibe you want for your shoot. Are you going for a casual look or something more formal? Do you want something colorful or monochromatic? To consider these things during the planning stage is essential and If you have any specific ideas, feel free to share them with your photographer so they can do their best to incorporate them in your session.
2) What should you wear?! Think about the type of wardrobe you want to wear, how many outfit changes your session will require, how you'd like to accessorize your pieces. And if you need inspiration ALWAYS get inspired by Pinterest! There are so many amazing outfits you can find on that app, I promise It won't let you down. But most importantly... wear something that make you feel good!
3) Layer up! Bring lots of clothing options: Hats, scarves, jackets, etc., if your shoot is on location. It may get chilly!
4) Don’t forget about makeup and hair! Makeup can really make a difference in how your photos turn out. Make sure there is enough time to apply makeup before the shoot starts. And for those of you who usually wear little or no makeup, consider wearing some during the shoot to cover blemishes. Also, make sure your hair is styled neatly so we can capture those beautiful locks in their full glory!
5) Bring a hype man! A family member or close friend will do. Most clients don't realize how important having someone with them during their shoot is until they've done one alone. Having someone you know with you can make all the difference when it comes to overcoming awkwardness or nerves. It keeps things lighthearted and fun so that we can focus on getting great images.
6) BE YOURSELF! You don't have to be someone else for the camera. Just come with a positive attitude and don't be afraid to try new things!
7) And last but certainly not least HAVE FUN! I want you to have fun; it's my job—and privilege!—to make sure that happens.
Stressing over your shoot is never a good idea. Being prepared is half the battle. I hope these tips will help you feel more comfortable and get you ready for your session.
